Early Sunday morning was full of scattered thunderstorms in the L.A.
area. Even with the rain, there was quite a turnout. Still up from last
years show. We still had a good turnout of members at the show. Gary Bailey,
Marty Boyd (69 Road Runner), Troy Bray, Robert Cohen (69 Charger), Chris
Edwards, Cory Franklin, Paul Houlihon, Ron Hurwitz, Keith Kube, Eric Lauber,
Mike Manhart (69 Road Runner), Tom Mikolajczyk (69½ Road Runner),
Carlos Novo (70 Barracuda), Dave Pany, Dick Smart, Ron Stepka, Paul Stewart
(69 GTX), and Steve Wall (68 Barracuda) all came out to the show. All car
show entrant got a free picture of their car when they entered in the morning.
A few members decided not to take their show cars in
the rain. Some waited for the rain to clear up and some didnt mind
getting there cars wet. Tom even came through the rain without his hood
(its out getting repainted). Talk about run what ya brung! Carlos brought
his 70 Barracuda which most of us are familiar with. But not that day.
I must have walked by it three or four times and didnt recognize
it. Its now painted a different color with a side stripe. The paint
still smelled fresh on it !
The club provided drinks and a sub sandwich that Robert,
Tom, and Keith brought. We had a club swap spot and we all hung out and
had a good time. Mikes wife, Sandy brought some delicious homemade
brownies too. We had a good time sitting around stuffing are faces. We
shopped for parts, socialized with fellow Mopar fans, and had a nice relaxing
time at the show. A nice break from Spring Fling. It was a great show.
Awards went out to Mike and Carlos. The club won club
participation for the second time. Two for two at this second annual show.
Lets keep up the good work. Its great to participate in and
support other Mopar clubs shows like they do for ours.
